Ashraful Hossain Alam, also known as Hero Alam, has applied for a vote recount of the Bogura-4 by-polls, which he lost by 834 votes.

Alom, an independent candidate in the polls on February 1, claimed that election results were changed during vote counting.

Returning Officer Mahmud Hasan said, "Hero Alom came to our office to submit his application for recounting votes. But I was not at the office at the time.

Later, he went to the Deputy Commissioner's office in Bogura, where the returning officer's (DC) representatives received his application.

In the by-polls, independent candidate Hero Alam was defeated by Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal candidate AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen by 834 votes.
